Alejandro Sas, Founder

Founder & Director

In 2003, Alejandro founded the first mobile entertianment company in Argentina “By-Cycle” pioneering all lines of business in Latin America, and was one of the initiators of the mobile “Added Value Services” industry in Latam, and after the sale at Buongiorno Group was President of the Southern Cone. He also participated in the team that analyzed global business opportunities for the Group. He was also Co-Founder and ex President of Mobile Monday in Buenos Aires. Alejandro previously served as Commercial Director at Starmedia, and has also worked at companies such as Endemol, Study Staff and Channel 9. Has a background in TV, Internet and Mobile.

Gastón Bercún, Founder

Founder & Director

Was Director and Founder of Geelbe, the most important private online shopping club in Latin America, with operations in Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. Previously he was a partner at Bercún – Law Offices, responsible for issues related to Computer Law and Mergers & Acquisitions. Gastón is a Business Angel at Likexo and an Angel Investor at VU Security. He was also founder and CEO of DerechoGratis.com, the first legal portal in Argentina, a company that was sold in 2002. He studied law at the University of Buenos Aires and holds a Masters in Law and Economics with a concentration in Finance from UTDT.

Ariel Muslera

Ariel is part of CAP Ventures. Previously he joined LAVCA in November 2008 to lead the creation of innovative research products and services for LAVCA’s network of Private Equity and Venture Capital fund managers in Latin America. In October 2009, he moved to Buenos Aires to open LAVCA’s first regional office. He is also Advisor to ARCAP, the Argentine PE/VC Industry Association. In March 2011, Ariel moved to an advisory role at LAVCA to take on a full time position as Venture Partner at the Venture Capital firm CAP Ventures, where he leads technology-related investments with focus on Internet & Web 2.0, New and Digital Media, Mobile Apps and SaaS companies, among others. Prior to LAVCA, Ariel was a lead Partner at NetStrategies, a US-based boutique advisory firm where he co-led capital raising and strategy engagements for multiple technology start-up companies in the New Media industry. Before NetStrategies, Ariel was a Manager within the Financial Services Strategy and Transformation Group of Capgemini, a leading global consulting firm. Ariel holds an MBA with Honors from Columbia Business School and has lived and worked in New York, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.

Daniel Nofal

Technology entrepreneur, and founder of IPLAN, among other companies. In love with the mountains and nature. He studies Permaculture and renewable energies. Enthusiastic about creativity, innovation and change. While studying renewable energies he founded Sustentator, a driver towards a new sustainable lifestyle in which exists balance between man and nature allowing abundance of energy and resources today and for the next generations. Also founder of The Wikilife Foundation , a non-profit global collaborative experiment that collects health and lifestyle information and shares it in an open and anonymous way.

Diego Martínez Núñez

With over 15 years experience in the areas of Marketing, Communications and Digital Business Development, Diego holds his Marketing degree from the University of CEMA. In 2003 he founded By-Cycle, a mobile marketing entertainment company, which was acquired in October 2007 by the Italian group Buongiorno, where Diego took on the role of Executive Director for the Southern Cone until December 2009. His professional career also highlights the development of startups at leading companies in the Latin American market such as as Media Contacts Argentina – Havas Digital (General Director), Teleglobe Comm Corp. (Marketing Manager) and INTERGRAM (Marketing Manager), among others.

Damián Voltes

Is the CEO at Patagonia Ventures, an Early Stage Venture Capital Fund focused on Latin America, and is also the CEO of Emerging Cast, a company dedicated to producing, aggregating and syndicating short video formats to the web, mobile and television. Previously, along with Ariel Arrieta, he founded Digital Ventures, Directa Networks and InZearch and after their acquisition by FOX/News Corp he took on the role of VP of Global Business Development and Co-Managing Director. Damian is a serial entrepreneur, and has been involved in the Internet and Online Media industry since 1996, where he founded various companies such as CuponesOnline.com Inc., Netkiosk S.A. and Inter-Marketing Group.

Santiago Pinto Escalier

Executive with more than 15 years experience in the technology industry in Latin America, US and Europe. He was elected as an Edeavor Entrepeneur in California ISP in October 2010. Santiago is a successful entrepreneur and founder of several companies over the past 15 years, including Co-Founder at Smowtion, an online adnetwork conducting business in 100 countries. He has raised over U.S. $ 40MM in investments in the last 7 years and has been Co -Founder and CEO of Bumeran.com, a leader in recruitment for companies in Spain and Latin America, that was sold to Terra Networks, re-purchased by their founders and acouple of years later sold to Tiger Global. He is an active Business Angel / Investor at the following companies: www.smowtion.com; www.ashiwea.com.ar and www.sonico.com.

Alejandro Guerrieri

Alejandro started his first company, Oid Mortales Records, a record label, in addition to shining as a musician and produce in the 90’s. In 1996 he began to venture into the world of Internet and developed the site Cuspide.com, the first e-commerce site in Argentina to accept credit card payments. In early 1999 he created a new company, DigiMedia and in 2002 he moved to Barcelona, where he became fully involved in the mobile world, acting as a consultant in the fields of computing and mobile communications. Based in Europe, he provides consulting services to companies like 3CInteractive (the third ranking fastest growing technology company in the state of Florida). Since 2003 Alejandro has provided continues support to the technology community as part of major Open Source projects, among others, Kannel Project (SMS / WAP Gateway), SQLBox, WURFL (DB mobile devices). Alejandro is innovative, passionate and enjoys challenges.

Santiago Troncar

Santiago is founder of Digital Partners, an advisory firm focused on mobile and internet industries in Latin America. He advised clients such as Netflix, Playboy Movil, Yahoo! Mobile, the MMA, Staples-OfficeNet Latam, Novartis, MSD, among others. Previously, he was GM for Ticketmaster Argentina and Co-founder and first President of MobileMonday Buenos Aires. Prior to that, he was head and builder of the mobile and internet business units for Claxson Interactive Group (XSON) and Vice President of Marketing and E-commerce of El Sitio Inc (LCTO) in all Latin America markets. Santiago is a graduated BA from the University of Buenos Aires and did a EDP in The Wharton School of Business in the US.
